Fun in the sun
Updated: Sep 2

We had a fantastic start to the summer with a trip to Folkestone. The weather was perfect and we spent an idyllic day on the beach. We went via the stony beach to get to Sunny sands on the eastern end of the town but the children were so excited when they saw the sea that they ran straight towards it, so we stopped there for a while as they threw stones into the sea and had a snack.
Most of the time on the beach was spent in the water. One member of the group had never been to the seaside before so it was a very special day for them.
The fun didn't stop there however as we also took a group of older children, 11-15 year olds, to Cheshunt Youth Hostel for two nights and did archery, climbing and paddle boarding at the outdoor activities centre next door. The young people had a great time and particularly enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful garden area at the front of the hostel, playing badminton and football.
Some comments from our young people:
"I had a fantastic and wonderful time."
"So many memorable moments"
"I cannot believe how incredibly happy I am. Would love to come here again"
